How to Connect the T2000 Server Directly for OSN 6800

This section describes how to connect the T2000 server to ETHERNET interface in the subrack by using a cable on OSN 6800.
Prerequisite
The subrack must work normally.
The IP address of the NE and the IP address of the T2000 server belong to the same network segment.

Tools, Equipment and Materials
T2000, network cable

Precautions
If the connection mode of subracks is master/slave mode, you must connect the T2000 server to the master subrack through a network cable.

Procedure
Step 1 Check the cable. One end of the cable should be connected to the network interface of the NM computer. And the other end should be connected to the NM_ETH1/NM_ETH2 interface of the AUX board.

Step 2 Check whether the green indicator of the network card interface of the NM computer is constantly on.

Step 3 Check the indicators of the NM_ETH1/NM_ETH2 interface of the AUX board. The indicator of the NM_ETH1/NM_ETH2 interface of the AUX board and the green “LINK” indicator should be constantly on. The orange “ACT” indicator should flash.

Step 4 On Windows XP of the T2000 server, click Start. Select Control Panel from the Start Menu, and the Control Panel window is displayed.

Step 5 Click Network Connection, and the Network Connection window is displayed.

Step 6 Right-click Local Area Connection and then click Properties. The Local Area Connection Properties window is displayed.

Step 7 Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) window is displayed.

Step 8 Check the Use the following IP address check box. In the IP address field, enter an IP address that is in the same network segment with that of the NE, for example, 129.9.0.N, where N is an integer from 1 to 255. Note that the IP address cannot be the same as any of the existing IP addresses.

Step 9 In the Subnet mask field, enter 255.255.0.0.

Note:
When configuring the Use the following IP address check box in direct connection, do not configure the gateway lest the configured gateway lead to the failure of connection. If the T2000 server has more than one network cards, choose the corresponding local connection of the network card connected to the subrack.

Step 10 Click OK.
—-End

Also, you can make this example as a reference for OSN 8800, OSN 2500, OSN 500, OSN 1500 when meet the same configuration.

OSN 500 Ethernet Services (E-Line and E-LAN)

The OptiX OSN 500 supports point-to-point E-Line services and multipoint-to-multipoint E-LAN services.

Standardization organizations such as ITU-T, IETF and MEF stipulate the model frames for L2 Ethernet services.

E-Line Service

Figure 1 illustrates the E-Line service provided by the Huawei OptiX OSN equipment.

Company A has two branches in City 1 and City 3. Company B has two branches in City 2 and City 3. Company C has two branches in City 1 and City 2. The branches of Companies A, B, and C require data communication. The OptiX OSN equipment can separately provide a private line service for Companies A, B, and C to meet the communication requirement. In addition, the service data is completely isolated.

E-LAN Service

Figure 2 illustrates the E-LAN service provided by the OptiX OSN equipment.

Company Z is headquartered in City 3. Branch A of the company is located in City 1 and City 2, and Branch B of the company is located in City 1, City 2, and City 3. Branch A and Branch B do not communicate with each other, and the data of them should be separated from each other. The headquarters, however, need to communicate with all the branches and need to access the Internet.

The OptiX OSN equipment can be used to provide the E-LAN service. Different VLAN tags are used to identify service data from different branches. In this manner, the headquarters can communicate with the branches and the data from different branches is isolated. In addition, the VLAN is used to isolate the Internet data accessed by the headquarters from the internal service data.

Huawei SDH: dispersion module access

In the SDH such as OSN 500 optical transmission system, in the end, does the dispersion compensation access, or optical amplifier to access first ?

The sulution:

SDH generally do not have the two stage amplifier.

Dispersion compensation in optical should not be too large (will damage the module), alsoshould not be too low (quality will affect the downstream signal).

Used in the Huawei SDH start, can shine put before. If shine put, equivalent to the output in the light andthe light attenuation, the possible influence on the receiving end power.

The dispersion module is to pre compensation, the consideration is the line distance, if the distance is too far, plus the best pre dispersion compensation module, if not likely caused bysignal serious in long distance transmission way signal degradation, is late in the dispersioncompensation module, the signal can not be completely restored, so that the signal could at the receive end frame loss. That is LOF, LOF is not received, also is likely to receive error, transmission of signal is also relatively large impact. The dispersion problem, can have a look of wavelength division inside the explanation, very detailed, but are only with coherent technique, the dispersion is not the problem.

Setting Protection Subnet Parameters on OSN 3500

Prerequisites

You must be an NM user with NE and network maintainer authority or higher.

If one or more trails are configured in the protection subnet that you want to delete, delete

the trails first.

Procedure

Step 1 Choose Service > SDH Protection Subnet > Manage Huawei SDH Protection Subnet from the Main Menu.

Step 2 Right-click the protection subnet to be deleted and choose Delete from the NM or Delete from the NE or Delete All from the NM from the short-cut menu.

NOTE

The methods to delete a protection subnet are as follows:

l Delete from the NM: Deletes the relation between the protection subnet and logical systems at the NE side, to allow deleting of fibers, re-uploading, and so on. This command is not delivered to the NE and does not affect the services. The deleted protection subnet can be located by using the search feature. The U2000 locates it according to the NE layer protection information.

l Delete from the NE: Deletes the protection subnet, logical systems at the NE side, and all traffic in the protection subnet. The deleted protection subnet cannot be restored without being created again.

l Delete All from the NM: Deletes data other than fibers in the network layer. The deleted protection subnet can be located by using the search feature. It is recommended that you do not select this option, as a large amount of data can be deleted.

Step 3 In the Operation Promptdialog box, click Yes. After completion, the Operation Result dialog box is displayed.

NOTE

If Delete from the NE is selected, you need to confirm the operation once more.
